Just for anyone wondering what Philipych said in their PM above - it was a 'offer' of quote: 'expensive' paid services to hack my device - don't waste your time wondering if he/she was actually going to help anyone. Mods, might be worth looking into if this is the kind of user you want active on your forums.
If there is someone that can provide a guide or share their info, I'm happy to give it a go.

Hi,
Wondering if anyone know the following Garmin can be patched
<PartNumber>006-B2588-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>400</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>Garmin DriveSmart 61</Description>
I was able to follow the directions up to the Updater.exe part where my computer sees the garmin but the updater.exe does not. Tried dragging the file to webupdater and was able to update it that way but it still says my maps are corrupt.
Thanks

Even if you want to install the entire available EU mapping you still must select each tile. You can do that relatively quickly selecting mutiple tiles with MapInstall anyway. This method of 'do-it-yourself' img making is quite different to when you buy an already compiled img from Garmin. You can rename the map info such as Map Name, Map Description and Mapset name, so that it's more easily recognizable and appears more like the conventional naming given by Garmin for their img files using ImgTool:
- Code:
https://sites.google.com/site/sherco40/imgtool
As for testing the JCV, put the device is simulation mode and set your position in a large city, say London. Then put Manchester as a destination. You can scroll thru the route and it will show several Junction Views if the files working properly.
