Universal Firmware Patcher for Protected Garmin Devices

Followed the instruction, and according to Updater.exe flashed the firmware successfully, but GPS doesn't boot past the initial Garmin logo with message "System Software Missing". I tried going back to original unpatched firmware. Updater says operation was successful, but GPS stays the same.

Any advice is welcomed.

Try with cure software to recover the previous firmware

I used garmincure3 software and loaded the cure firmware to the GPS. I can see it on my PC, but isn't in MTP mode so I can't see System folder. Garmin Webupdater and Garmin Express sees GPS, but webupdater goes through the cycle of reinstalling the firmware, but nothing changes. I'm not even sure there is an option i Garmin Express to force firmware reinstallation.
Updater.exe doesn't see GPS under USB port any more.

Please help.

Fixed. I had to press OK on Updater during the short window time while GPS was in pre-boot mode trying to load the software. I flashed the latest software and it worked. Thanks.

Anybody patched a 2599. HWID 1947 SW 8.80 ?
Got 2 versions of IMGpatcher and it fails to work on my gupdate.gcd.
It might be that it only works via auto boot microsd, can anybody help me get one please? Many thanks for any assistance.

Sorry for the delay.

unzipped files to micro sd card.
Inserted card and rebooted satnav.
Turned off satnav, replaced card with unlocked garmin maps having used gimgunlock v 4.
Error message cannot unlock maps. maps corrupt

Which directory on sd card should the files be?

Loads an OSM map OK and can find addresses so I'm happy. Thanks

When you unzip the in SD has to be created the followin directories \garmin\updater\....\files....
anf when you put it in the device should receive a message that is updating otherwise you do something wrong

I have change from AUTO DETECT to MASS STORAGE,
and I can access the .System folder
But I can't find the gupdate.gcd file.
Any help accepted.
