Hello: Greetings to the community. I have a garmin ETREX 32x. I understand that I must use "universal firmware patcher for protected garmin devices" and patch the firmware in order to use the CITY NAVIGATOR EUROPE published on this website.
I'm right?
Is the "universal firmware patcher for protected garmin devices" compatible with the ETREX 32x?
On the other hand, there are patched firmwares of my ETREX 32x to be able to install JNX / Bird Eyes maps.
Do these firmwares serve to unlock the CITY NAVIGATOR maps? (I understand that no, that they are different things).
Finally, do you see any inconvenience in using the modified JNX / Bird Eyes firmwares if, afterwards, I want to patch the firmware to use the CITY Navigator?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I´m pretty new to this so sorry if this is a stupid question.
I would like to unlock my Garmin GPSmap 722. I followed the instructions here and got following data out of the .xml file.

-<Model>
<PartNumber>006-B2637-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>1810</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>GPSMAP 722</Description>
</Model>

Can somebody tell me if it´s possible to unlock this device and, even better, how to do it.
I´m not good in understanding how that works but I´m awesome in following manuals, adivces and orders ;-)

Thank you very much

Hello, my device is montana 680.

I am trying to load this map. new-maps/city-navigator-europe-ntu-2020-fid-8360-t21582.html?start=15

I researched a lot here and applied what was written, but I was not successful.
Here's what I did:

1. SD card formatted FAT32

2. montana patch. I tried to apply what was written here. When I turned on the GPS, the load screen came up and the GPS was turned on. but I don't know if the patch was installed properly.
software/universal-firmware-patcher-for-protected-garmin-devices-t17987-405.html?hilit=montana#p176096

3. I created two files inside the sd card. (Garmin and Map)

/Map/Gmapsupp.img
/Garmin/JCV/D6212110.jcv

Maps appear in the basecamp program, but the maps are not displayed on the device. I tried it on other maps, but the sd card does not see the contents. I throw a photo into it, the device can see it. my device only does not see map files.

I don't know where I am doing something wrong or incomplete. I need your help a lot. Sorry I'm a novice user.

Try putting the gmapsupp.img in the Garmin folder, don't think your device uses .jcv files

thank you for answering. yes now the map has appeared but it warns me. "Can't Authenticate Maps, Contact content seller for help."

How can I tell if I made the patch correctly? what do you think is the problem?

GVS: Yes - it verifies the validity of firmware signatures, you have to use patched firmware to use unlocked maps.

Where did you get such an absurd definition?
No firmware patch is required to use unlocked maps if the MSV is not there!
The maps can be unlocked using the old gimgunlock-0.03 in this case.

Confirm your HWID is 1258 by looking in your garmindevice.xml
<PartNumber>006-B1258-00</PartNumber>
