Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card into device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed,so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.

Using Echomap 92SV+ with the 12.00 patch and works perfect. Is there a tool to patch the new released firmware 13.20 ?

I have downloaded and unzipped the 2 Topoactive Europe 2019.20 files using lastest Winrar but when I copy to to the Garmin folder of my SD card in Garmin Etrex 30x I get the message - "Cannot Authenticate Maps".

I don't usually have any problems so I'm guessing they are still locked although they will open in Basecamp.

I have tried unlocking with gimgunlock-0.04 and Garmin Unlocker Alternative 7.1.6 but no success.

Can you tell me where I'm going wrong please?

Thank you.

A simple search of Etrex 30x would have answered your question.

Look in your garmindevice.xml and confirm your HWID is 2250
eTrex 20x/30x | 2250 | 290 | MAP: Yes | GMA: Yes | MSV: Weak | GVS: --- | File: eTrex20x_30x_Webupdater__490.gcd

MSV: Weak - it verifies the validity of map signatures in a simple way, you can unlock an .img using gimgunlock-0.04 (without patching your firmware), but in case of unicode maps (CP65001) you must modify the CP value (see the Temporary authentication of Unicode maps*).

but I get this error message:
Processing file D:\GUPDATE.GCD

Firmware version as specified in GCD file: 2.30 for Unknown device (HWID 3433).
File format not recognized.

Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,55,65, zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 are all in the same category.
No solution yet as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new format.

Hello, I searched on the search and looked at some pages and didn't find it.
Any solution to unlock the Drivesmart 55?

Is there a reason the Alpha 200i cant be patched yet? When will it be able to be patched?
Really would love to be able to use my maps on it as soon as possible.

Is there a gupdate I could try?

recent Garmin gps mapping installation

Postby tera2000 » Wed Sep 02, 2020 7:45 pm

Good morning all,
does anyone know how to install Garmin topo maps on recent gps?
on my Monterra and Oregon there is no problem, but on recent gps the Topos maps can no longer be recognized by the gps, I have tried everything but the gps indicates "impossible to authenticate the maps, contact. .. "
I am open to all ideas, I don't know how to do it anymore and my new Montana only wants to recognize osm cards, some Garmin Topo no longer work ...

You do not give any Model numbers or better still HWID's or even which TOPO maps ?
