Descent is: GMA:Yes, MSV:Weak, GVS:---
Works with unlocked map and if the map has CodePage 65001 you can change it to CP 1252. Then you do not need to use patched firmware.

Guys, I changed the CodePage, the maps were loaded on Descent Mk1, thanks a lot!!!, but the problem is that all the names in Turkish are written in incomprehensible characters, the same map at 66st displays normal names, can it be fixed somehow

Maybe then it's better to use the file with CodePade 65001 and patch your gps-device with the patched firmware where I give you the link before.
But while I don't have a Descent, I guarantee nothing.

Hallo mimicris , How do I remove the firmware pached from my garmin 64s.
From the moment that I have downloaded the firmware to the device, it has become terribly slow when following a route (GPX file) while cycling, so that I regularly take the wrong turn.

You have to put the GUPDATE.GCD file in the Garmin directory of the GPS, then disconnect it and turn it on, it will ask if you want to update it, but you will lose the customization of the GPS it will be as when you have it received new. And the modified firmware will be taken into account.

I have a problem with this map. Updated firmware for my montana 610 to the pached one. It loads my benelux 2.0pro map fine but when i instal this map and boot my device it says:
Can't authenticate maps. Contact content seller for help. Do i need to do anything else? Installed the map trough basecamp, dont know if thats the problem?

Where did you get the pached one ?
If from here it is only the JNX Patch.

Made a patched one with the instructions from the first post. Used ure firmware and patched with webupdater and now the france v6 topo works. Tnx

Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,55,65, zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new format.
