Hi mimichris, thanks for the info about the developer and I'm sure there is no problem with the .rar file itself, but for some reason, MalwareBytes thinks anonfiles.com may contain trojans. I ignored the warning anyway this morning and clicked through, but in order to then download the .rar file, the original link forces the user to install a Chrome extension (Footer Quotes) first and would change your default Chrome search to their own, and I was iffy about letting that happen.
Anyways, many thanks GarmanNuvi for the new link and I've successfully downloaded the patch file from there.
Now, I apologise if I'm a bit thick, but I've read a number of threads and have no idea what to do with it.
I read the update.txt in the package for clues, and I'm assuming you need a program of some sort to execute it?
del,0:/.System/gupdate.gcd
rrgn,154,2:/BUK_154.bin
xrgn,14,2:/Garmin/Updater/2087/0E.bin
xrgn,127,2:/Garmin/Updater/2087/0F.bin
xrgn,158,2:/Garmin/Updater/2087/9E.bin
reboot
I have already downloaded from the various threads here (but not installed yet) Gimgun, BaseCamp, ImgTool,
MapInstall, MapSource, Protected Garmin File Toolkit_2254 and WebUpdater
I'm Windows savvy but this is all new to me so if you can help, much appreciated.
When patched, will this affect my lifetime updates of the installed UK and Ireland map?
