Universal Firmware Patcher for Protected Garmin Devices

Hi guys,
Lot of the links don't work in this post. I am looking for the tool that will generate the patch for the Garmin units using the xml file? The software produces a "Updater" file which you then can put on the Micro SD card inside the "Garmin" folder with the .IMG map file. Could some one please point me in the right direction.

Thank you very much.

Hi Rob, from your PM's last year you said you were making copies of maps for friends and you belonged to a 4WD club and there were many asking for the same.
I suggest you give them a link to our forum and we can help them on a one to one basis ,as I've explained before every device is unique ,There is no simple tool that Patched all Garmin devices to use Unlocked maps.

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me.

Is there a way to unlock the map so it will work in all Garmin units?

I am a part of a 4WD club and I have many members asking me for a copy?

Kind regards
Rob

Hi Rob,unfortunately no as not all devices especially the latest ones are able to read Unlocked maps, some devices are able to be patched to read Unlocked maps.
You may have noticed we ask for HWID in the Firmware patching section, this is because Devices can have the same Garmin " model name" but actually have different firmware.
Please confirm the two patches I have made for you have the same HWID number. This is in the garmindevice.xml if you use the wrong Patch you can brick your or your mates device.(If you are unsure just let me have a copy of the relevant garmindevice.xml.

Don't want to be rude, but try the previous page for instructions and link how to install 16.10 using Forced Update.

I have the same problem as you and I couldn't get it back to version 16.10
When I purchased the device, it was version 18.10 and I did not find a solution

You can 'force update' the ECHOMAP Plus/UHD 7x/9x by turning off the unit and then starting it by pressing the '4' button and power button at the same time and keeping them pressed until 'recovery region loading - recovery loader ready' text is shown on the display. After that you can release both buttons and the unit will now load the software from the SD card.

I did the steps recommended by you, but if it is not a memory stick, it goes back to version 17.10, and if with a memory patch version 16.10 it doesn't go back to version, it stays on version 18.10

Yes still works to Unlock .img files, but some devices require patching to use unlocked maps and other later devices cannot be Patched
Not seen can't use the card ,only "Can't Unlock Maps" or "Can't Authenticate Maps"
Give more detail about the device and map then we can point you in the right direction

Thanks for your respond. My device is: Gamin drive smart 61 europe lmt-d
do you need more information?

I moved your posts to this thread as this is were the solution is.
HWID is what defines the compatible Patch ,use the wrong Patch & most likely brick your device. :022:
Confirm your HWID is 2588 from the garmindevice.xml from the Garmin folder on your device.
<PartNumber>006-B2588-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>630</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>Garmin DriveSmart 61</Description>

DriveSmart 61 006-B2588-00 Release 6.30 [Please Register or Login to download file]

DriveSmart 61 FW 6.30 HWID 2588 ONLY
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed,so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.

Thanks for the information. Do I have to leave everything in the folder Gamin and subfolder? Is there a way to see if the patch worked? The device was standing on the "Garmin" screen with dots in the background, is this normal? The file 154.bin was on the sd card.

now I have this message and can not use the navi anymore:

Parsing "del,0:/.System/gupdate.gcd"
Error
Parsing "rrgn,154,2:/BUP_154.bin"
Drive Software Version 6.30, UID: , HWID: 39xxxxxxxx

Parsing "xrgn,158,2:/Garmin/Updater/2588/9E.bin"

and is not booting anymore. Any solution for this problem?

Update: I can see no in the middle of the screen, first "system" and then "loading..." is it possible to flash the 154.bin back?

Remove the SD card from the device, and back up the 154.bin to your PC. delete everything on the SD card and use it for something else ,maybe map updates.
Try the Unlocked map you said gave an error to see if the Patch worked.

Please use the "thumbs up" button so we can see what maps you downloaded and from which Post

Dear Masters of Garmin medicines,

I followed the "How to ...SD card" for a Drive 51 HWID 2586 SW 6.20 and at the end it was fluent for perfect result.
Thanks!

But at the beginning got a "the memory card has reached the end of its useful life" message for a genuine Transcend 4Gb card. Swapping with a no name 8Gb ... see above.

Keep the great activity.

Please upload a firmware patch kit for the Drive Smart 51.
<PartNumber>006-B2586-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>620</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>Garmin Drive 51</Description>

All the links I have found to download aren't working - NGINX error.
Thanks

@sserx,

The solution you are asking is provided by

GarmanNuvi

at several places in this thread, page 24 for example.

I did the universal DIY solution (FirmwarePatcher220_05-05-19).
It doesn't hurt.

MN
