Thank you, I saw you posted the SD patch kit for drivesmart 61 with HWID 2588, same as mine
Quick question: as long as the HWID is the same, can I simply transfer your kit to my device?
in the future, if there is new firmware update, do I need to request a new kit from you? (if you are free and available that time? :-)
Is software patch method using FirmwarePatcher380 still working?

Thank you.

HWID is what defines the compatible Patch ,use the wrong Patch & most likely brick your device. :022:
Don't chase updates, most likely they don't relate to your device, like the changes made from version 6.20 to 6.30:
Fixed support for Garmin HuntView Plus on Garmin DriveTrack 71.

You can use the previous method to patch, but finding Pre-boot mode can be challenging, using an SD card kit is simple as long as you read & follow the installation instructions.
There will always be a trusted member to make kits for those that request them within a day.

DriveSmart 61 006-B2588-00 Release 6.30 [Please Register or Login to download file]

DriveSmart 61 FW 6.30 HWID 2588 ONLY

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed,so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.

Thank you for your quick response!

It is the TOPO Deutschland V9 Pro (Germany).
The error shows "Karten sind nicht authentisiert. Für Unterstützung an Verkäufer der Karte wenden" (Cards are not authenticated. Contact the seller of the card for assistance).
I put the topo to the folder "garmin" at the SD card.

WOW!! Thank you very much for the excellent help! Now the card is working properly. :023:
Now there is a new question: what happens, if there is an original software update from Garmin? Can I use these updates in the future?

If you use a Garmin update later than 4.70 the patched one will be overwritten and loose the ability to use unlocked maps, the good news is the older the device the less updates there are.Don't chase updates ,see if their fixes relate to your device use.
A new Patch can be requested for later FW

Changes made from version 4.40 to 4.70:
Added support for G3 Marine Cartography.
Fixed possible issue with dashboard when adding main menu pages.
Fixed possible issue with smart notifications not displaying.
Fixed temperature spikes in track log when powering down when using a Tempe.
Fixed issue in-which Where To -> Coordinates was not able to be added to the main menu.
Fixed potential shutdown for area calculations when device is set to Greek.
Improved Connect IQ app support.

To say thanks, just use the "Thumbs" up button -------------------------------------------------------Image

I saw a post after mine from gabii5, but I'm not clear if this is a patch for my DriveAssist 51 and then there was a question from GarmanNuvi about that link anyway. I'm unclear whether I have a patch available or not?
