I patched my drive smart 60 and it has been taking unlocked maps but after update are not accept any unlocked map .

and I cannot access pre-boot mode .. i tried many times.

my HWID 2268 and software version 530

I have Nüvi 1240 and i also have downloaded unlocked map for europe. I would love to replace the map inside the device ( I don't use any external memorycard) with the one i have downloaded. I am quite anxious to do that. Because i understand that there is the possibility that i break the device, right. So would you, mr. Kolokythas, give me any assistance/tutorial to do that? Because i am not sure (at all) whether i have to patch gupdate.gcd or not and so on.

Hi! Only new mainly devices need patching of the firmware in order to recognize unlocked maps yours is old one so you do not need to patch your gupdate.gcd firm.
You just download and copy in your device one unlocked map and rename it as gmaprom.img the gmapprom.unl do not need it anymore the rest of the files you leave them.
