Welcome to the forum, not all devices can use unlocked maps your
zumo 396 with HWID 3033 will need to be Patched to use Unlocked maps, Check in your garmindevice.xml

Make sure your device is fully charged.
Unpack contents to fresh SD card formatted FAT32
Ensure your device is fully OFF (not in standby), insert the card in device and power on.(Power on by plugging in your Power cable if the battery is in poor condition)
"Loader" will appear on screen for a while then the device will boot up when the flash of patched firmware is complete.
Your device may reboot its self during the process just be patient.
Your SD card will have a new file named 154.bin this is a backup of the device's non-volatile memory region and may save your device later if needed, so keep a copy of it somewhere safe.

Unfortunately it looks like Drive, DriveSmart 52,55,65,71 zumo XT ,Alpha 200i, Montana 700 are all in the same category.
No solution as the Universal Firmware Patcher does not recognise the new encrypted format.

First had some problems but after using 8gb instead of 16gb card loader appears and it worked.
Now need to test some maps.

7.90 Patched but not tested, Garmin is not saying what the changes were made from version 7.80 to 7.90 on their web page, there is a difference in size of data
Previously 7.70 to 7.80 Added Bulgarian Garmin Express says 7.90 Added Bulgarian ,if Bulgarian is not relevant to you why not stick with the Patched 7.80 Firmware.

By a mistake a friend updated his patched 7.80 version to 7.90 thats why i am asking. I did it with a different way. Made a hybrid firmware with RGN tool,7.80 logo.bin and 7.91 (patched) fw.all.bin. Worked!

Is it possible to patch the nüvi 144LMT, HWID: 1595 with FW840 ? I see it in the list but with FW820. Should I downgrade the FW to 820?
