SpeedCams are not the same as POI's so they won't show up as a POI

Instead, plan a trip where you know there to be a SpeedCam en route...then run that trip in demo mode & you'll see that you get a notification

No, it's not...your version of WinRAR is out of date

You need at least version 5.0 to extract the file

There seems to be a corrupt file among the latest speedcamfiles.
After copying them to the Europe_1035_9675 folder and activating them with latest Fastactivate, the Tomtom freezes and reboots within 2-3 minutes of use, regardless of how it's used.
Removing the speedcam files solves the issue. It's not the NL speedcamfiles, but I don't have the time right now to check all countries 1 by 1.

Tested on 2 devices, did download the speedcam RAR twice, no errors at unRAR-ring. Updating Tomtom's for more then 10 years now, this is the first time this happens.

Thanks in advance for any time you put in this at all.

The problem is there for more than a half year or longer. Only use the speedcams with the country maps you have. So not all the speedcams in the map. And otherwise, you start eliminating the speedcams one by one. After the elimination tell us wich speedcams course the problem.

"The problem is there for more than a half year or longer". Strangely enough that's not my experiemce! I've found exactly the same problem as RJ45: my GO 920 freezes - with the same map and same full set of SpeedCams. Only last month (October) I updated my earlier map (Europe West forokeys 1025.9386) with the then current full set of SpeedCams with no problems whatsoever. But having said that, I'll do as you suggest. However it would be nice to know why this problem has arisen...? Any ideas?

Holyhead is right, it has been a problem for some people for a few months now...he is also right about only putting the relevant speedcams into the map concerned.

The reason is, the SpeedCam file we provide you is a comprehensive collection of files...something you don't get if you buy them from TT. A few of them are new to the collection, do not have meta codes & can't be activated but these are the uncommon ones like TW (Taiwan) for example...& one of those uncommon files is causing a problem.

If members were to follow the advice & only install the speedcams relevant to the map, they wouldn't have a problem...but the people who don't follow instructions are the same ones who are lazy & extract the lot & then start complaining that they have a problem. We can only do so much, we provide the files & the advice free of charge but we expect members to follow instructions.

What would be helpful is if one of these members were to remove the inappropriate speedcams methodically until the problem has gone...then tell the rest of us which one caused the problem so we can warn other people. That hasn't happened yet but we live in hope...

Thank you for your excellent explanation fredderf. In my defence, in the past I've always taken the quick and easy way and installed the lot: they don't take up much memory space. But I've learned my lesson!
And thank you RJ45 for your post: it saved me much time and anquish looking for the problem.

''Make sure you only use the SpeedCams files that are relevant to the map concerned otherwise you could find that your device will constantly reboot!''
I have this problem , how i can check if the map that i installed is concerned with the speedcams?

What that means is...don't just extract the whole SpeedCam archive into your map folder otherwise you might have problems. If you've only installed a France map, just install the France SpeedCams...if it's a Europe map, just install the SpeedCams relevant to the countries contained within that map (France, Germany, Netherlands etc etc). Read the other posts above ^^^
