Don't forget that even after running "Update Meta" in the Tools section of TTActivator, sometimes the required meta (one of the new 1140's for instance) still isn't showing in the meta file which is needed to activate your chosen map(s) then simply add the one(s) you want to your meta file which is in your main TTActivator folder

Suggest it is actually attached to post #1 as it's under 2MB in its zipped form?

Damn, I thought it may just be us "normal" (non-mod/admin) people. Any way to find out why & get it back again fredderf?

Trying to send a recent map to old XL.
As far as I understand TTActivator download maps from official TomTom repository where maps for such old device are no longer updated.
If this is the case, there is alternative method/repositories to get alternative recent maps for XL?

Don't worry about exactly how or where these come from but you're right that virtually all Nav2 maps have been discontinued BUT all/any Nav3 map can be used on your Nav2 One XL provided there's a meta available for it so just take it & enjoy.

Thank you.
I can't see the "One" keyword anywhere on my model, and I don't know if and how this is relevant, here are some textual info I've found in device folders

[TomTomGo]
DeviceName=TomTom XL
DeviceVersionHW=XL
RamDiskVersion=20181211
BootLoaderVersion=55282
LinuxVersion=1493118
ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=9541
ApplicationVersion=3145439.2

When I tried some nav3 1135 map

[Please Register or Login to download file]

Image description: TTActivator 1.20 "Installed content" screen with Central Europe South v1135 map Activated showing in green

I got this error

[Please Register or Login to download file]

Image description: Problem with the map You cannot use this map on this device Central_Europe_South-104222

(sorry for italian settings and for my ignorance in this whole field and also sorry for 1 week tinypic duration)

Central_Europe_South 1110_11858
This is the last one with meta for your NAV 2 GPS.

Thank you.
I managed to solve: the issue was not the map or the meta, simply the device was too virgin and the "Patch navcore" step has never been done (nor I knew it was needed).
I now successfully installed some NAV 3 maps choosing from 1140 ones.
Is there any advantage in using 1110 maps made for NAV 2 you mentioned?

ABSOLUTELY NONE seeing as they're 18 months old and even then, TT could take 6-9 months to incorporate any new roads etc into their maps so may not have new roads from even further back! :023:
