Newbie, so hi everyone and thanks for having me on the forum, what I've read already in Part 1 has helped me enormously.
I have a Binatone G430 that opens up (with two bongs) to the Navigation and Menu buttons, but does not load the GPS program when Navigation is pressed.
Does this describe what you call "bricked"?
I'm curious to get it going with the inbuilt MobileNavigator.exe, if that is still possible.
When connected to a PC by USB I find there are populated DataFlash, MobileNavigator and Maps etc folders on the device, and MobileNavigator.exe is present.
The only anomaly my limited knowledge can find is a setup filename that maybe should end with ".ini" but is actually "MobileNavigator\SystemSet.in_" (that's "in + underscore", not "in + i")
If I make it "ini" will it make things worse?
It will run Miopocket Mini 4.0 from an SD card, which enables me to open Pocket-GPS with my own JPG maps for finding my way on hikes.
However, Pocket-GPS will not run on its own without Miopocket.
When all its folders and the exe are placed in the root of the SD, with the exe renamed and a suitable SHELL.ini, it stalls again at the Navigation and Menu screen.
Is this another indication that the device will now only run from MioPocket or similar?
If so can you point me towards a solution even lighter than MioPocket Mini, as I only want to run Pocket-GPS on it?
Thanks
Michael
