Guide to Binatone devices

Postby navmanD » Thu Jul 19, 2012 5:02 pm

I need some help with my Binatone A430! I upgraded it to TomTom 7.450 with UK Maps 880.3811 and used AutoActivate to create the META.txt file. However when turning on the satnav, the tomtom software loads fine but it says 'No GPS device!', hence its unable to connect to any satellites. My SD card contains the following:

Navigator (folder)
United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 880.3811 (folder)
ttnavigator
META.txt
SHELL

Where am i going wrong here? Help would be appreciated!

Define don't work...

Original software starts
Primo starts but closes
Nothing happens

Check the primo folder on the sd card contains the executable among others and not just one folder...

You don't have to change anything in the internal memory, so there is no need to connect with a USB cable.

The package was designed to be as easy as possible to install, simply put the shell.ini and the mobilenavigator folder onto a blank sd card, so that when you open the card from (My) Computer that's what you see.

Put the card into the device, switch off and then back on and then tap navigation.

Make sure the shell.ini and MobileNavigator folder is not inside another folder like the one created by winrar, also make sure you're using a sd card not a sdhc card.

I tried using a SD card and renaming the file what you said to but it just would not open it that way at all :( so I then open the direct drive and removed the original files to my desk top and then put on the IGO files and renamed the file as you stated and it started and works really well, I do have one question for you if you don't mind. I put on 4 UK files as I didnt know which ones i was supposed to as in file name FBL, FDA FTR, etc etc which one do i use??
