I want to change a Tom Tom voice name. I have tried everything but it does not work.

I will take as example this voice:



I want to change "Special 6" by the name that I want. I have tried to edit the .vif voice file with NotePad to change the name, but Tom Tom does not recognize it and it still shows the original voice name.

Can someone help me? I think it's so easy to do!

All I get is an infolinks header and footer with a blank page in between?

I have Carminat TT running 1110 Western Europe and I wanted to add some voices. I copied a bunch I found and put them in the Voices file. However The only ones that work are:- Sean Connery/Special 20, John Cleese/Special 20, The Daleks/Special 36, No language shown only flag, Then there are Lori, Bonnie and Richard, all English (US). Then Norma, Raul, Espagnol (LA) then there are some Francais, Hvratski,Polski and Srpski. All the others are greyed out with written underneath "Available for download from TomTom" (paying) ! All the others are not even visible. I have checked out the 7 rows of text in the voice files, most of the working ones don't have more than the first 2 rows of text. None of the 3 Specials have anything except the name of the speaker and the VCH number.
I have added the missing rows to all of the files. Looking at the files with TTActivator it says against each one "does not need activation"
Looking in the Voices file there is a file called Voice, Inside is a single row of text:-
KeyGen 2009 XXXXX (Forty numbers)FFXDDX-VoiceMeta
I presume that the secret lies herein?

I also possess the biggest load of C%&, a Start 60, Free Lifetime maps !!!!!!! At every upgrade you lose a feature, Maps are also NOT up to date. How I wish I had never seen it, My IGO on a Chinese tablet for 30% of the price is miles better.
However this is by the by, This renault has this Carminat grunge. So I want to make it as friendly as possible until I can afford another car or I get frazzled in a wooden box whichever comes first.
