I know ,you've heard it a lot:
It is not possible to use a custom warning sound for the original Tomtom safety cams!
Right ?
Wrong!!
And it is simple :
Either way create it on your computer (instructions at the end) or you can record a warning sound directly on your device using the following steps:
1. Tap Change preferences in the Main Menu of your device.
2. Tap Manage POIs.
3. Tap Warn when near POI and select a POI category.
4. Tap OK and then select Record warning.
5. Your new warning sound file will appear in the sounds folder on your device.
You can select it as a warning sound for a POI, or when you enable the warnings in the Safety preferences menu.
You can choose a different sound for each Tomtom cam on your system , so you'll finally know if it is a red-light-cam or a speed cam
I've uploaded the 3 most common sounds [Please Register or Login to download file] PW: downunder
Red light camera , Speed-safety camera and School Zone - copy the files into the folder "sounds" and you can choose them in the preferences for the Tomtom cam warning sound as stated above.
(Idon't know where they are from ,I had them on my system for ages...)
How to create a custom sound :
You can create a custom warning sound on your computer.
1. Record your sound in 22050 Hz Mono, with a sample size of 16-bit, using your preferred sound recording or editing software.
2. Save your sound as a .WAV or an OGG Vorbis file.
3. Copy the file to the "sounds" folder on your TomTom navigation device.
