Hi All,

the original tread about this has been closed, so I had to open this to ask questions. In the original topic the tutorial can not be completed due to the files from the v965 maps are too big. Could be okay with the v945(it was tested).
Also files are missing,and can not be copied from the smaller map to the new "working folder"

1. If not done unpack the downloaded maps into corresponding folders on your hard drive.
2. Create another folder to store the smaller Truck map in.
(of course you could just extract what you need, but simply copy and delete is easier for most users)
3. Copy all files from the original Truck map into the new folder - your working folder from now on.
4. in the working folder delete all cspeech files as well as the following files:
crpoi.dat
poi.dat
cphoneme.dat The remainings are 2.1 GB, so it's doesn't fit to a 2 GB card
5. from your single country map copy the following filesinto the working folder:
borders.dat Not present in v965 UK_ROI
citymap.dat Not present in v965 UK_ROI
citymap.met Not present in v965 UK_ROI
faces.dat
faces.met Not present in v965 UK_ROI
Confirm to overwrite existing files!

That is no longer possible. You have to buy one with 4GB internal or with SD slot.

I have a GO 300 with SD card slot. I've tried 4 GB cards (Kingston,Sandisk) non of them are working, because I've updated the Bootloader to v5.5297
It doesn't work with 4 GB cards. I should downgrade it to v5.5022
I'm just afraid of causing any damage during try it make to 5.5022

I don,t believe that the bootloader is the reason. I told you before on a One v1 with bootloader 5.5297 the truck navcore is working.

I remember, but your One v1 could be different, my GO 300 is much older.Your one is working,my one doesn't . Also saw other topic saying that, for old models like Go 300,500,700 is the best to use v5.5022
But it was too late I've already updated the Bootloader, and this can not be downgraded. Because there is no Bootloader for downgrading. Or maybe there is something for it?

The information is from 2010. In the meantime, there have been newer bootloaders.
You can downgrade to bootloader V0.0001 and after that upgrade it to 5.5022. And it is of your own risks.
So no complaining if something goes wrong.

The Go 300 is from April 2005
THe One V1 is from Oktober 2005

IT'S WORKING! I'VE MADE IT!!!! I'VE TURNED MY 10 GBP EBAY SAT NAV TO A 320 GBP TRUCK SATNAV!

If you have an old GO 300,500, or 700 how to do it to handle 4 GB cards:
Use you 2 GB,or less card: downgrade it to 0.0001 than 5.5022.
Do NOT forgot to remove the 5.5527 Bootloader from your 4 GB memory card after you done the down-and-upgrade using the old 2 GB card, or less card!

If you have an old 300,500,(700 not has Hard Disk) then you can directly update the bootloader to 5.5022.
You don,t have to downgrade that was only in this case, because the bootloader was higher than 5.5022 i.e. 5.5279.
And I still believe that the bootloader has nothing to do with it.
You can only find that out to upgrade from 5.5022 to 5.5279
But I suppose you do not try it out

Did you remember to RE-PATCH THE MAP EVERYTIME YOU MOVED IT FROM THE 300 TO THE 730 & BACK TO THE 300??

If you buy a GO 300 with a new 5.5279 on it, it won't work.Others could have been in the same trouble,and you could buy one from Ebay.The seller couldn't manage to figure it out why it's not working,after he upgraded it to 5.5279,and he put it up for sale. In this case you gotta downgrade it.

This already happened.(by mistake) Let me tell you what happened : I put the 0.0001 onto the 2 GB card. Downgrade done. That I put the 5.5022 onto the 2 GB card. Done.Than, I put the 4 GB card back into it, but I forgot the 5.5279 on it.So when it booted up(because this time still running on the 5.5022 it recognized the 4 GB card,and the 5.5279 bootloader on it) So, it's upgraded itself to 5.5279 again, and than the 4 GB stopped working again. Started the process again: 2GB card - 0.0001 than 5.5022
At this time, I deleted the 5.5279 from the 4 GB card.Than I put the 5.5022 on it.(to preventing the upgrade to 5.5279)
Now it WORKS!
This clearly shows that, the 5.5279 is not suitable for G0 300 models.

1. Smart idea.
2. This was not necessary. A B/L file only runs on the first boot-up after it is loaded on a device. It is dormant on that device from that point on. If a user is happy with the installed B/L, a B/L file is not even needed, unless the user wishes to do another B/L up-date.
