How to update & patch TomTom NAV3 Devices

I tried to update my TT GO 1005
I think I did it according to the text and the video!
However it does not update and there is a moment that says
an error occurred after installing the map'

Hi fredderf, I was very happy with this sharing, which I already thanked. I asked a question in the last post, as I couldn't reach the goals, making all the steps very well explained, but it gave me an error! I didn't get help, but yesterday I paid attention again, I don't know what I did differently, but I did and with the 1080 version. I was very happy. Grateful for everything.

fredderf. I have a question, I needed to add to my TT_GO Live 1005, which was excellent, after your help, some of my data. (favorites, gantries, radars, restaurants, etc). I was using TomTom MyDrive Connect, it turns out it 'nulls or erases' what I have! how can I now, do this.

For the renault R-link/

In ttactivator you can download "r-link" maps.
But how to activate the map?
Because ttactivator does not recognice a renault r-link sd card?

So why include download possibillety of downloading r-link maps...

I guess I'm out of luck with my TomTom Start 42 that got autoupdated to 18.105.0024.311 (0) (02/07/2018)? There's a pending NAV4 update in MyDrive Connect that I'm holding off on.

As long as you have a backup copy you've nothing to lose! Go on, I just know you want to try it!

Is there a tutorial on taking backups somewhere? You're right, I do want to try it, but the "Patch" buttons in TTActivator are greyed out, and I don't see any way of accessing the filesystem to take a backup (only accessible via TTActivator or TomTom MyDrive Connect). It's MyDrive Connect that's offering a software update, map update, and a whole bunch of Euro maps I didn't realise I owned, but I'm nervous that it will be some sort of unmoddable software version with no downgrade options.

I am sorry but I am total noob. I just got tomtom start 20 m recently and my app verison is: 12.74.2687300.84. MyDrive is trying to update my device to v12.07 but there is no more info. Can I do it and still use this proces?

As far as I know, your Start end of life time
You will then have to provide yourself with special software to be able to install new maps.

So I find out that I still can update maps officially. I now have v1082.11295.

But I don't have speed cameras. Can I use this tutorial (activate device) and still be able to download newest maps from mydrive?
