How to update & patch TomTom NAV3 Devices

Hi,
I own a TomTom 1005,8GB.Europ v920 is installed and i was able to install France v1110 using TTActivator.So far so good.
As the device has a SD slot,i wanted to install Europ zone 3 on a sd card with the idea to patch that downloaded map with radars poi's and an appropriate mapsetting.cfg before using R-link Explorer to write it to the sd.
I formatted a 8BG sd using R-link tools ,selected TomTom.000 but when i open ext000,it shows only lost+found directory,no common/installed.Moreover,got also a message "map mount error" when selecting the map on R-link left side.
I sure did something wrong but i'm at lost.

Well,i'm able to answer my problem/question :
my mistake was to format the sd card using R-link tools : DON'T !!
Formating the sd in the 1005 did the trick.
Made a test with France's' map and Lufop's "danger warnings" : works great !!
Will put the needed maps on the 8Gb Sd and no maps internally , at least till i find a way
to add poi's to the internal maps.

I can't download TTActivator, the link goes to an error page. Can you please write me the correct link to the tool to download the maps and activate them?

Hi. I'm trying to use R-Link Explorer to install maps on a 64 GBs Micro SD, but it gives the "failure to mount" error. I cannot understand what to do. Any help? Thank you!

hi guys! I have a Nav3 VIA and I only need the speedcameras. The previous owner bought it but is now expired. I`ve tried to activate with TT Activator but I got nothing. I`m probably doing something wrong. Is just enough what I`ve done or I need to do more? Thank you!!!!

Hello,

A big thanks for this tutorial, I updated my TomTom Go live 1005, very easy !
Is anyone knows if it exists "lighter" camper maps ? My GPS is only 4GB space, so the Europe Camper map can't be installed...
I wonder if we could find Europe Camper zone maps (like Europe Zone 1, 2, 3...), or a France Camper map for example... ?

Hello @bendercasim, I had the same issue, what worked for me is to :
- first update your GPS with MyDriveConnect (install all updates that the software finds)
- quit MyDriveConnect
- Launch TTActivator

Thanks for that!!! Somehow I have managed to make it work. Do I need to do that again to renew it or will stay for ever? Thank you!!!

No I think it will be ok for next time. Be just aware that connecting to MyDriveConnect now can brings you to delete your maps as it is not recognized. But I haven't tested that.

Can anyone tell me if this works on a R-LINK Renault Captur navigation system.

Got the R-link workung, saw the device and copy the map, but it does not appear when I insert the SD card on the car, also don't know how to patch the map

Should a make a new (fresh) SD ?

First of all, I would like to thank you for accepting me into the group. Sorry, but I'm writing via Google Translate.
I wanted to upload one XL 30 2GB to my old TT
I did it via: TTActivator
I managed to:
Map version: 1135
Map: Central_Europe_West
Everything went fine, I activated the map, but when I turn on Tomtom it says: No maps found.
Do I need to erase anything from my device?
