Hi All, can anybody confirm these pin assignments are correct?
I would love to give this a try, but it would be nice if it was verified 1st.

The pinouts vary from model to model so you'll have to open yours up and compare them

Hello!

I soldered an micro-SD to my Tomtom XXL.
And when i connect the TT to computer, display disconnected, it sees it as 16GB(the sd card) and works good.
But when the display is connected, only the internal 2GB is visible.

Any suggestions?

Wich bootloader you have you need at least 5.5022

It is 5.5282, so apparently it is not about that..

Okay, i made some progress!

Here's the two TomToms i am currently holding:
DeviceName=TomTom XXL Classic Series
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL Classic
BootLoaderVersion=55282

DeviceName=TomTom XXL IQ Routes Edition
DeviceVersionHW=ONE XXL IQ Routes
BootLoaderVersion=55228

Both devices have same PCB revision, v0.6, but despite that, there are some minor differences, like "IQ Routes"-version has one RF-shield missing and those solder points couple of millimeters different than other.

"Classic Series" works with SD-card completely, and "IQ Routes" sees SD card until display is connected.
So that suggests that only the bootloader version differs. But if SDHC support starts from 55022, it shouldn't matter..

I just got a new display for my "Classic Series", so i was able to test it finally :)

Can you please take another look at the images shown below?
I named the points that I think are the correct ones but as already said, only CMD, DATA0, DATA2, DATA3 en DATA1 are an identical match.
Just to make sure I solder the correct points... :023:
Your help is really appreciated man! :032:

(This is the most detail I can shoot with my current camera.)
I think "CMD, DATA0, DATA2, DATA3 and DATA1" are correct because they are identical.
But "CLK, GND and VDD" are not identical to the tutorial.

Questions:
1. I think "CLK" is either the blue or the yellow line, please tell me which one. If none of them, please tell me what point is "CLK".
2. I think "GND" is correct because it is the same component as in the tutorial, although it is in another place. Is this correct?
3. Also for "VDD" it looks different as in the tutorial. I did a guess but I am not sure. Is that the correct pin?

Maybe useful for somebody:
Did this mod today and can confirm that the yellow line is CLK. Measured frequency is 16.5 MHz.
The top two resistors are swapped in this layout.

All other points are correct as well.

I placed the microSD card inside the shielding and used another ground point nearby.

Fixed the wires with glue and insulated the card with kapton tape.

And have you updated the bootloader before or after you installed the new SD card ?

Are you shure that the bootloader is 5.5282

Whitch bootloader you have

Checking bootloader (the only reliable method)

Enter a device reset 15 sec.

Then turn on the device and hold the start button until you
get info screen. Which bootloader is there.
