Was the screen calibration wrong when you bought it?

An incorrectly set up iGO can give the effect of wrong screen calibration, And as you don't know where the build of iGO came from and who assembled it, It may be easier to replace it with a build from this site than try to fix it.

Let us know how you want to proceed.

1, First thing you need to do is make a backup of the SD card and put it somewhere safe as you may need some files from it, Then delete all the files from it (Or use a different card, Max 2GB.)
2, Download Simple Launcher.
3, Download this version of iGO8.
4, Extract both archives, Note: there will be some .zip files within the iGO folder, Do not unzip these!
5, Read the instructions included in Simple Launcher.
6, Rename RenameMe.exe and RenameMe.mscr to vdoservice.exe and vdoservice.mscr
7, Copy vdoservice.exe, vdoservice.mscr and Mortscript.exe to the root of the SD card. (Max 2GB)
8, Copy the iGO folder to the SD card.
9, Retrieve the sys.txt from the backup and open it with Notepad, look for the [gps] section, note the port and baud numbers.
10, Copy these numbers into the sys.txt section from the newly downloaded iGO.
11, Insert card, Reset device and if all is well a file explorer will appear, Navigate to the iGO 8.exe and tap OK.
12, iGO 8 should start but there will be no content, but we'll sort that, just get the app working first.

Report back...

If the screen calibration is miles out after a hard reset, it is likely to be a hardware issue, I have a screen calibration tool i can upload later to try.

Screen calibration tool and file explorer...

3615

(Re-uploaded, You will need to rename CECMD.exe to vdoservice.exe)

Extract and copy both files to the root of the SD card and reboot device, using the file explorer navigate to the screen calibration tool and run it, Follow the instructions.

It sounds like the previous owner has messed something up, Have you tried a hard reset?

Or failing that, I Found this ROM update...

[Please Register or Login to download file]

Files are [Please Register or Login to download file]

These files are for the VDO Dayton PN6000 ONLY!

Follow the instructions EXACTLY

After the update has finished, try the iGO installation again, If the calibration is still out then it's a hardware problem.

Have a look around the file system of the device and see if there's an exe file that starts it.
